Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
As a result of fall i felt sharp pain on lower left ribs and felt a muscle or rib, not sure, as if moved from my backside to front. I m having difficulty in movement now and my front left side a bit rigid and painful to touch. I have used pain relieving creams but no result. Can you guide about the causes and consultation with doctor.
The cause of such a pain is commonly due to a pulled muscle or bruised rib.
However, it can also be due to fractured rib or a hair crack can also cause much discomfort or pain. Other reasons can be pancreatitis, Costochondritis, pancreatitis or even gastritis.
Take antacids & Pan-40 in the meantime. Visit ER, get examined by a PCP, get Imaging tests (X-Ray, USG, MRI if required) be done.
Get a total health check up done to rule out any developing pathology as a precaution. Get evaluated & treated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
